With its mixture of pulsating upbeat rhythms and tightly knit unison shot sections, Third Eye takes the listener on a journey from one headspace to another while keeping a sort of trance like pulse driving all the way throughout the tune. If I may get technical for a second, I accent the “off” beat quite a lot throughout the song which I felt worked great in both accompanying the guitar, bass, and synth lines, as well as keeping the track bouncing along. This, I feel works great as the song switches between a straight feel to a swing feel, without any significant bumps in the groove. The meaning behind this song for me is to simply always have your mind open, as well as your eyes. if you don’t understand what may lay in front of you, then you might just have to look at it from a different perspective.
