So here we are - the last chapter of The Fast Life. I can’t think of how we could have ended this album with any other song. New Kind is a deep dive into the prog rock realm, which we have explored briefly before. An epic, in every sense of the word. this song is the ultimate journey from beginning to end. I remember the writing process for this track having a lot of attention to detail which ranged from: where each section should be placed, where should the accent be on the high hat in this part, and so on! This is one of my personal favorites on the album. I feel the title really fits the track, as well as the story of the band moving forward. To me, it's kinda like giving you all a look into the future of this band, as we move on as a new kind ourselves.
