With the beautiful working title “Kronk”, Neon Skyline was one of the last compositions to be recorded for the album, as well as being named. This is one of the more straight forward songs on the album, with an easygoing structure, despite some twists and turns along the way. The bass solo section will be sure to have the hair on the back of your neck stand up. It's one of my favorite moments on the album, as it builds up the song, before there is ultimately a release that returns to the main melody, returning the listener back to the ground. I came up with the title one evening, as I was walking homeward bound. It was a clear sky with stars burning in the night. To me, the name fit perfectly with the album artwork’s bright colors and nightlife vibe in the city, which ties in with what I perceive to be the focal point of the message in the song, which is simply: sky's the limit!
