This song was our first ever collaborative original, but it was also arguably the most painful song to create off the entire album. Jordan wrote the first section of the song just before I ended up joining the band, we liked it and wanted to expand on it and make a full song. Funk Soup went through multiple rewrites before we settled on its final composition, but the recording sessions were even tougher. The drums had to be rerecorded multiple times, the bass was completely redone once, and again re recorded in some parts, and the guitars had essentially gone through the same process as well. We’re happy with the finishing result though, it’s a good representation of our “sound”. - Felix
